DIY Cork Board Display

This was a super fun and easy DIY project.
So here is how I did it:
I took 3 pieces of cork board, taped off a geometric design, spray painted it purple (because almost everything is better with a bit of purple right?!) take off the tape, hang on the wall and Vola!

As a post script, I was so frustrated with the final picture! The perfect place to hang my wonderful new board display is in a hallway that gets NO natural light. Hence...the color is totally off. It is actually purple like you see in the other photos, but I wanted to show off the final look despite the funky color. All in all though I am very happy with the result.

Have a lovely day All.

Captured Moments

A Friday ritual. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment to pause, savor, and remember.
If you are inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

Not a lot of words for this photo, except that it is one of my most favorites.
Hubby looks so happy out in our shop making things. Sometimes we can photograph a moment that truly captures a feeling...and this shot is one of those.
"These are the good old days we are going to miss in the years to come"
 Much Love.

Untitled I

This is an old oil painting I did years ago. It, like many of my paintings, is out in the world somewhere....I always feel so different about my work after some time has passed. I am glad that I have photographs, because to be honest looking at this is like someone else did it. Weird huh?!

We Eat Food

Round here we eat food. I am definitely not a chef and this is defiantly not a cooking blog, but from time there is something about a certain delicious bit that calls out to be photographed.
And this might be the best food photo taken in our house ever-look out Martha Stewart. Because this is how you do Ramen right!
 Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Summertime Henna

Just a few photos of some recent mehndi henna work that I did. I love the brown-red color of the henna paste against the green background. Henna paste is a totally natural stain, scented with essental oils. For those who have never had it done, I say give it a try simply for how wonderful it feels on your skin. The paste is cool and the whole process is very tranquil.
It is beautiful in Oregon today, and I think that we will have some tomatoes off of my very first tomato plant.....any minute now.....
Pretty exciting stuff.

Time is a funny thing, this weekend marks the year anniversary of my grandfather passing away. He was funny, charismatic,  generous, and kindhearted. Loss is so transformative to those left behind, and the void of his absence is greatly felt by all who knew and loved him.

Big hugs to your loved ones and mine. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
